PATHS Lunch & Learns aim to build community capital over sharing a FREE meal together and learning from each other about specific resources that intersect with housing. LGBTQIA youth and adults face greater barriers to stable housing, and are more likely to experience homelessness. For this L&L, we’re lifting up our queer community. Come grab some lunch as queer staff and guests from LYRIC Center for LGBTQQ Youth guide conversations on finding queer community and PrEP Navigation resources.

What are Trauma-Informed Relationships?

In this workshop, you will learn ways you can support the people in your life who might have experienced trauma. Learn tips on how to respond when your friends share their stories, and how to navigate sex with or without knowing a person’s past. Hosted by The SAFE Place.

We Get To Have It All, Part 2 - Safety Mapping for Life

(a workshop centering Queer, Trans, Intersex, & Two-Spirit BIPOC (QT2BIPOC) communities)

How can we make more room for getting what we want and need in our most intimate relationships? Building off of the first workshop in this 2 part series, the second session focuses on assessing challenging situations and mapping out our trusted resources. QTI2BIPOC participants will be guided through a step by step process to create a safety plan for the scenario of their choosing.

Then, stick around to watch a quick cooking demo to learn how to make delicious and affordable meals/snacks featuring ingredients that can be purchased with CalFresh EBT dollars. Currently enrolled SF State students who attend and complete the survey will have a chance to win a $25 grocery gift card!

In a world of social media, dating apps, and sexting, sexual communication is forever evolving. This workshop covers how consent can be sexy, verbal and non-verbal communication styles, and how to navigate sexting as a form of sexual communication.

Join us and learn Learn how to plant and grow your own indoor herb garden with the CalFresh team! Sign up by Wednesday, 10/27, and receive a FREE Herb Garden kit sent to your home to be used with us on Tuesday 11/2! The day of the workshop we will get an Indoor Herb Garden started together and learn how to care for them through a virtual workshop! Don’t miss out and sign up today!

Join our Peer Health Educator Emma to discuss best practices around alcohol sanctions at SFSU. This interactive activity will allow students to openly discuss their opinions regarding alcohol use on campus as well as methods of informing parents on illicit behavior. The focus group will be recorded and will be used to reflect back on what was discussed.

Sip & Tell is a virtual program that will discuss stress and anxiety around the holidays and provide resources and alternative ways to cope without the use of substances. We will have mocktail demos and a mental health check-in discussion!

Join the Food+Shelter+Success team in kicking off Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Come talk food and housing justice, learn about campus resources and grab a snack while you are out!

Engaging in a relationship should be fun and exciting! This workshop highlights ways people can work toward building healthy bonds and explores how less recognized forms of control lead to unhealthy and even abusive relationships.

Come grab some lunch, work on your FASFA application with staff support, and bring your financial aid questions.
