UPDATE: August 13, 2021
As part of our University's commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment, all new incoming students are required to complete mandatory sexual violence prevention education per CSU Executive Order 1095. In August 2021, San Francisco State has launched ”Sexual Violence Prevention for Students,” a new, mandatory sexual violence prevention education online training for new, incoming students.
Please note that all official notifications regarding this required training will be sent to your San Francisco State student email account.
”Sexual Violence Prevention for Students” will help you make informed decisions regarding alcohol use, empower you to intervene and prevent sexual violence, and give you the tools to address to peers' risky behavior. It will provide you with the information you need to navigate affirmative consent, healthy relationships, and effective communication.
Every incoming student is required to complete this online training. While it is required, we recognize that the material covered in the online course may be distressing. If you would like additional support around these issues, please contact The SAFE Place or Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Please note that both The SAFE Place and CAPS are currently not available for in-person assistance due to social distancing measures. However, both offices continue to be open to provide services online while Shelter-In-Place is in effect.
For non-technical questions, or if you need reasonable accommodations to complete ”Sexual Violence Prevention for Students,” email email@example.com and our Health Promotion & Wellness team will assist you. Before requesting accommodations, please know that the majority of University employees are mandatory reporters of incidents of sexual violence. To protect the confidentiality of survivors of sexual violence, survivors are not required to disclose details of their experience to receive accommodations.
